Taste of Pride (ToP) is an annual multi-tiered event series celebrating the rich connection between the LGBTQ+ and culinary communities. This year’s program will feature a multi-month collaboration between DC’s Business Improvement Districts (BIDS) that showcase the distinctive flavors and culinary talents within these vibrant neighborhoods.
Taste of Pride aims to blend the culinary artistry of our city with the pride and diversity that define our community, paving the way for a vibrant WorldPride celebration.

A Matter of Pride Juried Exhibition
June 6–29 · 6:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Washington Studio School
Brought to you by Washington Studio School
Washington Studio School is proud to present A Matter of Pride, a celebration of the rich, multifaceted experiences of LGBTQIA+ artists and their allies. This exhibition brings together visual stories that speak to the beauty, strength, and complexity of queer existence — stories rooted in resilience, love, becoming, and joy. This show is a space for resistance and tenderness, identity and transformation, solidarity and celebration. Every work is a testament — to the vibrant spectrum of queer life and to the power of creative expression as both mirror and movement.
In curating A Matter of Pride, we sought works that offer insight, provoke conversation, and invite connection. The artists represented here span a wide range of identities, experiences, and practices, from emerging voices to seasoned creators. Each piece contributes to a collective chorus: unapologetic, radiant, and necessary.
May this exhibition be a reminder that queer art is not just a matter of pride, but a matter of presence, purpose, and power.

Post pandemic, Pride Plays has returned, under the leadership of producers Sam Gravitte (also a Broadway actor), and Sammy Lopez (a Broadway producer in his own right) and is excited to expand to Washington DC in celebration of WorldPride before heading back to NYC at the end of June. The goal of Pride Plays is to showcase the rich tapestry of LGBTQIA+ experiences through the power of theatre, specifically in a festival format, with readings and events taking over Woolly Mammoth with works from the canon as well as new plays.
