The Embassy of Sweden in Washington, DC is excited to launch its summer film series during World Pride in Washington, showcasing a selection of Swedish films that celebrate the rich cultural heritage and cinematic excellence of Sweden. Please join us for a the film CROSSING (2024) by Levan Aki.

The film will be screened on the beautiful rooftop of House of Sweden (weather permitting) overlooking the Potomac River in Georgetown.

Doors and Reception: 7:30 PM / Screening: 8 PM / Event Ends: 10:00 PM

About the film
Lia, a Georgian woman, travels to Istanbul after promising her sister she’d find her missing daughter Tekla. The search seems hopeless until she meets Evrim, a lawyer advocating for transgender rights. As they explore the city’s hidden corners together, Lia feels like they are getting closer and closer to Tekla.

Run Time 105 min.

Government issued photo ID is required. In case of inclement weather the screening will be moved indoors.
