Beyond the Landmarks LLC is an independent, gay-owned business focusing on unique walking tours that go beyond the usual sightseeing tours in Washington DC. During World Pride, we will offer two walking tours. “Beyond the Closet”focuses on the persecution and liberation of Washington DC’s LGBTQ community from the 1940s to the present. “Beyond the Insurrection” focuses on the history of protest on the National Mall and includes the First National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights and the unveiling of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt during the Second March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights.
