“haus of bambi makes art that invites you to understand yourself a little better. Full stop.” – Bambi
Transformer and haus of bambi are teaming up for the haus’ first contemporary art exhibition, showcasing the collective’s extensive multidisciplinary creativity in conjunction with World Pride in DC. Building on our commitment to advance new & best contemporary visual art practices, connect artists to new opportunities, and elevate a broad range of artistic voices, Transformer is honored to present artist collective haus of bambi’s A Radical PRIDE at The Line DC. These outstanding DC-based artists bring a refreshed aesthetic to The Line DC’s Champlain Street, NW Lobby that showcases the cultural heft of DC’s artistic LGBTQ+ community. As DC’s leading contemporary arts organization supporting emerging artists, Transformer recognizes that the haus of bambi’s stimulating ideas, imagination, and innovation help drive cultural production and societal advancement.
About the Artists:
haus of bambi: A Radical PRIDE pulls from the breadth of talent within haus of bambi, utilizing photos, ephemera, sculpture, and installation to showcase the haus’ creations of identity and community, reminding us that Pride extends beyond June. Promoting a rich diversity of stand out emerging artists & arts leaders, Transformer grows opportunities and networks for artists in DC and across global platforms, just as The Line does for artists in all of their home cities. Together, we present a stellar lobby installation that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community, Washington, DC, and our city’s powerhouse contemporary artists.
haus of bambi artists include: Bambi (@hausofbambi), Bumper (@theebumper), Farrah Skeiky (@reallyfarrah), Miss Grace David (@missgracedavid), JaxKnife Complex (@jaxknifecomplex), and King Molasses (@kingmolasses).
