Welcome Concert

WorldPride 2025 will kick off the Welcome Ceremony at Nationals Park with remarks from key dignitaries and the welcoming of the Capital Cup athletes. The memorable celebration will showcase the rich history and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community in Washington, DC and around the globe. WorldPride 2025, will also mark the 50th anniversary of the city’s Pride celebrations concurrently with WorldPride, May 17 – June 8, 2025.

Global superstar Shakira will bring her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, produced by LiveNation, to Washington, DC as the official headliner for WorldPride DC 2025’s Welcome Concert on Saturday, May 31 at Nationals Park.

Known for her dynamic and high-energy performances, Shakira will bring tracks from her new album and her legendary catalog of hits to life on stage. This tour marks her first since 2018’s El Dorado World Tour that took her across the globe.

WorldPride Closing Ceremony & Concert

An extraordinary week deserves an epic closing ceremony! WorldPride will conclude with an epic Closing Ceremony, featuring incredible entertainment and performances by a variety of notable artists. The evening will highlight a montage of the week’s past events and an interactive art installation for attendees to leave their mark. The public will also witness the passing of the torch to the next WorldPride host destination.  

International March on Washington & Rally

Following the footsteps of Martin Luther King Jr., Marian Anderson, and countless others who have demanded freedom, and feature renowned LGBTQ+ activists and leaders from around the world. The march route will start in the historic Dupont Circle neighborhood, follow the grand avenues of Washington, DC for optimum visibility, and culminate near the U.S. Capitol.

WorldPride Street Festival & Concert

Already one of the largest LGBTQ+ events in the world, the Capital Pride Festival and Concert will extend to two days during WorldPride Weekend.  The Festival features hundreds of tented exhibitors including LGBTQ+ organizations, artisans, food and beverage gardens. Also offered at no cost to participants will be multiple stages and dance parties, featuring multicultural and multi-lingual performances, local talent, national and international headliners.

Join us for a Parade on one of the most iconic avenues in the World. Starting in the vibrant Logan Circle neighborhood and winding its way down 14th Street, the parade transforms Pennsylvania Avenue into a colorful corridor of joy, with the iconic U.S. Capitol as a stunning backdrop. Featuring ornate floats, grand marshals, and a vast array of groups representing the LGBTQ+ community.

Capital Pride Honors

Every year, the Capital Pride Alliance acknowledges outstanding individuals, leaders, and activists in the National Capital Region who have furthered causes important to the LGBTQ+ community. In recognition of WorldPride DC 2025, we are proud to award this great honor to individuals from our global InterPride community. This highly anticipated, red carpet style gala will take place at one of DC’s premiere venues and include live music, delicious food, and a formal awards ceremony, with presentations by influential trailblazers in the LGBTQ+ community. This event will be recorded and live streamed to a global audience.

Human Rights Conference

The Capital Pride Alliance (CPA) is partnering with leading organizations in the field of Human Rights for the International WorldPride Human Rights Conference. By focusing on inclusion, diversity, and accessibility, WorldPride Washington, DC aims to center the voices of those most marginalized in our LGBTQ+ community.

The Human Rights Conference will include opportunities to hear from guest speakers and participate in workshops highlighting queer history, erasure/visibility, and issues that greatly impact our global community.
