International Choral Festival

Each day of the World Pride Festival the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC (GMCW) will present a 45-minute pop-up choral performance that include ensembles of GMCW (Potomac Fever, Rock Creek Singers, Seasons of Love, GenOUT Youth Chorus, and 17th Street Dance) and several other GALA choruses from around the country*. Venues under consideration include the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, Epiphany Church, St Thomas Church, Live at 10th & G, National City Church, and Sixth & I. Additionally, GMCW will present their annual Pride Show Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1, at a venue TBD.

*To date the following choruses have expressed interest in participating: Atlanta Women’s Chorus, Common Women’s Chorus (Raleigh, NC), Lavender Light Gospel Chorus (New York City), Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus, New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, and New Wave Singers of Baltimore.

DC Black Pride

Almost 30 years after the first DC Black Pride drew 800 people to Banneker Field for a day themed “Let’s All Come Together,” more than 300,000 members of the LGBTQ+ community of African descent and their allies have come to Washington, DC during Memorial Day Weekend to celebrate the beauty of a shared community and raise awareness and funding for HIV/ AIDS in the name and spirit of Black Pride.

DC Black Pride is produced annually by the Center for Black Equity, a Capital Pride Alliance partner.

Welcome Ceremony

We’re going to welcome WorldPride DC 2025 attendees in style! This opening event will be held in one of Washington, DC’s state-of-the-art sports arenas/stadiums and will kick-off the inaugural Capital Cup, a WorldPride Sports Festival. We will begin the evening with a formal land acknowledgement and performance in partnership with local tribal leaders. Attendees will enjoy opening remarks with festivities that will include a flag raising by dignitaries, including the Mayor of Washington, food and drink, an interactive light show, and a live concert.

Music Festival: Global Dance Party

For the first and only time in history, the largest LGBTQ+ celebration comes to DC on the 50th Anniversary of Capital Pride. Get ready for the ultimate global dance party!

This unique 2-day music festival spans 3 STAGES with diverse mind-blowing talent, cutting-edge art and immersive experiences like no other. Whether you like House, Pop, Drag, Circuit or Techno, we will have a stage for you! Presented by Jake Resnicow’s Dreamland – the same team that brought you the historic WorldPride Event at the Javits Center in New York City in 2019 – with Production by Insomniac Events and Club Glow.

WorldPride Closing Ceremony & Concert

An extraordinary week deserves an epic closing ceremony! The final evening of the WorldPride celebrations will feature closing remarks, special performances, a look back at the previous week’s festivities using a photo and video show, and an interactive, large-scale art installation that will allow attendees of WorldPride to immortalize their experiences. The evening will conclude with the passing of the torch to the next host destination for WorldPride and include performances by international acts on our large state-of-the-art stage, in front of the United States Capitol Building.

Rally & March

Following the footsteps of Martin Luther King Jr., Marian Anderson, and countless others who have demanded freedom, the Rally will begin on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and feature renowned LGBTQ+ activists and leaders from around the world. The March route will follow the grand avenues of Washington, DC for optimum visibility, and culminate at the United States seat of power, the U.S. Capitol Building. Attendees will have access to the adjacent Festival grounds following the Rally and March.

WorldPride Festival & Concert

Already one of the largest LGBTQ+ events in the world, the Capital Pride Festival and Concert will extend to two days during WorldPride Weekend. Situated on over 100 acres of parkland in the heart of Washington, DC, the National Mall will provide an inspiring location for the hundreds of thousands of participants who will come together to enjoy a wide array of festivities. The Festival features hundreds of tented exhibitors including LGBTQ+ organizations, artisans, food and beverage gardens, and carnival style games. Also offered at no cost to participants will be multiple stages and dance parties, featuring multicultural and multi-lingual performances, local talent, and national headliners.

WorldPride Parade

Join us for a Parade on one of the most iconic avenues in the World. Spanning nearly 20 city blocks, the grand setting of Constitution Avenue will provide WorldPride DC 2025 Parade participants with an unparalleled backdrop, as we showcase our Pride to the world. Featuring ornate floats, celebrity marshals, and a vast array of groups representing the LGBTQ+ community, the WorldPride Parade in Washington, DC will arguably become the most beloved and memorable Parade to ever traverse through the United States Capital. The Parade route will be flanked by the National Mall, featuring awe-inspiring monuments, cultural institutions, and a colonnade of mature, shade providing trees.

Capital Cup: Sports Festival

Washington, DC has one of the most extensive local networks of LGBTQ+ sports teams and leagues in the world. Under the umbrella of Team DC, each of these leagues — their athletes, administrators, and volunteers numbering over 7,000 — are working together to create a multi-day Sports Festival for WorldPride DC 2025.

Human Rights Conference

The Capital Pride Alliance (CPA) is partnering with leading organizations in the field of Human Rights for the International WorldPride Human Rights Conference. By focusing on inclusion, diversity, and accessibility, WorldPride Washington, DC aims to center the voices of those most marginalized in our LGBTQ+ community.

The Human Rights Conference will include opportunities to hear from guest speakers and participate in workshops highlighting queer history, erasure/visibility, and issues that greatly impact our global community.
