Liberation Weekend is a two day music festival taking place May 30-31 at Black Cat and DC9, cohosted by the band Ekko Astral, the TRA​И​Ƨ​A collective and Gender Liberation Movement (GLM), with all proceeds beyond event expenses going to GLM. We believe this event will be a mark of pride for the DC queer musician community, as Ekko and many other acts on the bill are renowned locally as standing up for LGBTQ+ Washingtonians and DMV residents. We also believe this will a beacon and model for other organizations and artists to take similarly bold steps to advocate and raise money for trans rights.
