Human Rights

Washington, DC is the epicenter of the United States’ fight for civil and human rights. Fighting for what is right is part of a Washingtonian’s DNA, and our capital city has a long history of being at the forefront of activism and dialogue surrounding equality, freedom, and progress. With 36 national and international LGBTQ+ organizations headquartered in our city and neighboring jurisdictions, we have a unique opportunity to present a robust Human Rights Conference that will not only foster important dialogue, but inspire real action throughout the world.

Center For Black Equity (CBE)

The mission of CBE is to promote a multinational LGBTQ+ network dedicated to improving health and wellness opportunities, economic empowerment, and equal rights while promoting individual and collective work, responsibility, and self-determination. Their vision is to build a global network of LGBTQ+ individuals, allies, community-based organizations and Prides that are dedicated to achieving equality and social justice for Black LGBTQ+ communities through Economic Equity, Health Equity, and Social Equity.

DC Black Pride

Capital Pride is proud to work in alliance with partner organizations to support programs that provide more opportunities for members of the LGBTQ+ community to experience Pride. These programs include DC Black Pride, Youth Pride, Silver Pride, Capital Trans Pride, Capital AAPI Pride and DC Latinx Pride. Working in collaboration, our multi-faceted voices make us stronger as a whole, and allow our community to offer a more diverse range of programming that caters to community members of all backgrounds.
